Welcome to the Department of Environmental Health Enginearing

Department of Environmental Health Engineering as a part of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences is the oldest department of the school of public health, beginning in the year 1987. Since then, this department has been carrying out educational and research programs, with the aim of developing specialized manpower in the field of environmental health for eliminating health difficulties resulted from increasing environmental pollution which are seriously threatening human health. The theme of the Department of Environmental Health Engineering is the identification and prevention of physical and chemical hazards in the environment that influence biological systems, with particular emphasis on the health of humans. Hence, the major goal is to facilitate productive interactions between basic and applied environmental health science and engineering. Another goal is to promote department grant support to facilitate educational and outreach activities in the community. As well as,  provide high quality education, conducting high impact research, and participating effectively in professional, governmental and community activities,  strengthen of health capacities and  disseminate health information and increasing awareness of public health as public good and fundamental right. For receiving these objectives, the Department of Environmental Health Engineering currently consists of 8 full-time faculty members. Presently, the department is admitting 170 students in BSC, 25 M.Sc. students in two different coarse including Environmental health engineering and operation and maintenance of urban facilities and 24 PhD candidates in Environmental Health Engineering.

To fulfill its mission to advance the health of all people around the world through research and training in environmental health, the department emphasizes the role of air, water, the built environment, and the workplace as critical determinants. Faculty members study the pathogenesis and prevention of environmentally produced illnesses and act as catalysts for scientifically based public health advances. Research approaches range from molecular studies to policy evaluation

The environmental health engineering department of Hamadan university of Medical Science tries to safe, healthy, and efficient communities by:

8.      Use of knowledge and searching to solve health problems and find the best way for series problems of country and province

9.      The goal of this department is development of quality and quantity of education, use of professional Labs, research center, promotion of modern methods in two course of training and searching by utilize of professional teachers.
