The Department of Health, Safety and Environment was formed in 2016 ( Based on AD calendar ) with the admission of the student at the  MSc . At present, the group with having expert professors in the fields of professional health engineering, environmental engineering and management, with laboratory and workshop  facilities,  follows  the mission of training skilled and qualified manpower, as well as providing management and engineering services in the field of HSE .

1-The specialized services and consulting and training titles:

A ) Safety

•        Identifying , evaluating , selecting , setting up and educating the most appropriate methods for identifying and assessing hazards for organizations.

•        Identifying , evaluating , selecting , setting up and educating the most appropriate methods for accident analysis for organizations.

•        Designing and implementation of optimal systems for employee participation in the field of safety.

•        Identifying  and assessing  the hazards of organizations using appropriate techniques.

•        Accident analysis using the appropriate techniques.

•        Designing and providing the hazard identification and evaluation software.

•        Designing and providing the accident analysis software.

•        Identification and evaluation of human errors using optimal techniques.

•        Analysis of the consequences of actual occurrence of hazards using appropriate software.

•        Designing and implementing crisis management systems based on modeling consequences and risk assessment.

•        Design and implementation of engineering and administrative  plans for controlling hazards and reducing the risk of accidents.

 B) Occupational health

•        Consulting, training and establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System OHSAS. 2007: 18001.

•        Identification and assessment of the risk of chemicals in work environments.

•        Cost-benefit analysis.

•        Evaluation of the lighting conditions of work environment and providing and implementing the corrective actions.

•        Providing control approaches for pernicious agents at work place.

•        Design and preparation of MSDS.

C) Environment

•        Environmental aspects identification and assessment

•        Consulting, training and establishment of the environmental management system ISO 14001: 2004.

•        Consulting and conducting studies on the effects of development on the environment and preparing reports (EIA,EIS) for a variety of projects.

•        Design of control systems and reducing the air pollutants (scrubber , bag filter , cyclone ,  Bio filter , Industrial and special waste management)

•        Locating and feasibility study in environmental impact assessment using GIS / RS.

•        Environmental Performance Assessment (EPE).

•        Holding specialized training courses in all areas mentioned above.

•        Design and providing the comprehensive system for measuring the performance of safety system .

•        Safety culture assessment among personnel of the  Shiraz Power Distribution Company .

•        Assessment and management of HSE risks in Shiraz Power Distribution Company .

•        Workers occupational stress studies of the Mapna turbine engineering and manufacturing Company .

•        Investigation and modification of work postures in production line of the Parto Compony .

•        Estimation and analysis of occupational accidents resulting in death and disability in the Mapna group .

Policy:

The department through the outstanding faculty member and talented students has three large missions including educational, research and scientific authority in the country and world.

In addition to the important task of training a specialist, capable and committed professional, the department commits undertaking national and regional tasks and execute major national and international plans in this area at the behest of national and international institutions. Due to its age and network of alumni, this group plays a central role in this field in the country and will play a constructive role in helping to maintain leadership in the country by assisting and promoting similar groups in the country.  Moreover, the department attempt to admit foreign students to participate in international collaborations in health.   

The members of department believe that their efforts should lead to graduates who are distinguished in their knowledge, expertise, and professional commitment, each of whom in their future workplaces are worthy representatives of this group and an added value to their organization. .   

As an academic institution, stakeholder accountability, the most important of which is the community, is of particular interest to the group and, in order to accept an effective role in promoting community health, considers responding to the scientific needs of the country's health sector through Acceptance and implementation of major national and international projects make this possible.
